Assignment Number 4: Widgets and HTML
Widgets and HTML
Today’s assignment is to dress up your site with related widgets and HTML. Some of you may already have discovered what these are and how to use them. For those who are
still getting their feet wet, go to your site and click on “design” in the upper right hand corner. Then
click on “layout” in the left-hand sidebar.
You can choose from a variety of additions. You might wish to add photos on your sidebar, lists of links
to related blogs or websites, or an embedded video, hit map, or other relevant widget. If you are
embedding something from another site (such as a youtube video), you will have a chance to copy and
paste HTML in order to transfer the video, slideshow, or widget. To do this, simply copy the HTML from
the site where you have found the widget, then click “HTML/Java Script” as the sidebar element you
want to add. Put in your code and click “save.”
Once you have added what you want to your sidebar, you can drag the items around as you wish. Then
click “Save Arrangement” and head back to your blog.
