Feature Post

 

In almost every field that you can blog about, there are significant issues, pieces of news, developments, etc. that happen. A basketball blog can cover the NBA draft, a fashion blog can cover Paris Fashion Week, a gaming blog can cover the release of a popular new game, a literary blog can discuss the National Book Award finalists, etc.

 

For today’s post, write a feature story. Discuss something important that is going on in the world of your topic. Feel free to quote other sites or important people in the field, taking care to cite these words. For example, you might write “In a recent story from the New York Times (highlight that text and link the article), political lobbyist Jared Halpern stated ‘blah blah blah.’” You get the idea. 

 

Free free to mix it up with your feature story, including images and media if they would accent your information. 

Tip:

If you want to play around with more professional formatting for your blog, experiment with the various headings , text colors, fonts and sizes for your text. The critical point is to be consistent. All branded websites have a style guide, which means the look of every post is going to be similar. Font choices, sizes, colors, etc. will be the same in almost every article. Think about your style. How can you share it through your blog?
